Returns, Right of Withdrawal and Complaints

Right of withdrawal

Consumers have the right under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act to withdraw from a distance sales contract within 14 days of receiving the product. If an order is delivered in several shipments, the withdrawal period begins when the last product is received.

You must notify us of your decision to withdraw before returning the product, by email or another written method. Our email address and contact form are available on the Contact page.

Condition of returned products

The product must be carefully packaged for return and include its original accessories. You may handle the product only to the extent necessary to establish its nature and how it works. Products are sealed in a way that allows them to be tried on and inspected. The seal must remain attached and intact when the product is returned.

If handling beyond this has reduced the product’s value, we may deduct the loss in value from the refund in accordance with the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.

Return shipping costs

The customer is responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to a defective or incorrectly delivered product. Returns must be sent using a tracked service. Once you have sent your return, please provide the tracking number without delay by emailing info@vonkajander.fi or using our contact form.

Refunds

Refunds are issued to the original payment method without undue delay once the return has been received and inspected, or the customer has provided reliable proof that the product has been returned.

Complaints

If a product has been damaged in transit or you discover a defect, please contact us as soon as possible and provide photographs of the product and its packaging.

Each complaint is assessed individually in accordance with the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.

Warranties, Liability for Defects and Pre-owned Jewellery

Quality inspection

Every piece of jewellery is inspected individually before dispatch to ensure that it matches its product description.

Liability for defects

VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy is responsible for defects in its products in accordance with the Finnish Consumer Protection Act. Any manufacturing or material defects are assessed individually.

Any warranty provided does not limit the seller’s statutory liability for defects under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.

Warranty exclusions

Any warranty provided does not cover normal wear and tear, scratches, damage caused by impacts, the effects of chemicals, improper use, or repairs or alterations carried out by third parties.

These exclusions do not limit the consumer’s statutory rights if the product is defective.

Pre-owned and vintage jewellery

The age and history of pre-owned and vintage jewellery may be visible as a natural patina or signs of wear. The condition of each piece and any noteworthy details are described in its product listing.

Resizing and individual alterations

Many rings can be resized by a goldsmith. Products made to order, altered to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised to meet individual requirements, such as rings made to a size specified by the customer, are excluded from the 14-day right of withdrawal.

This restriction does not affect the customer’s statutory rights if the product is defective. VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy is responsible for defects in its products in accordance with the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.
