Application of These Terms

These terms apply to all orders placed through the VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy online store.

By placing an order, the customer accepts the terms and conditions in effect at the time of ordering. VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy may update these terms due to changes in legislation, official guidance or the development of the online store. Each order is governed by the terms in effect when it was placed.

The customer must provide accurate and up-to-date contact details when placing an order. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the information provided is sufficient to process and deliver the order.

Products and Product Descriptions

VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy offers a carefully selected range of new, pre-owned and vintage jewellery.

Every product is inspected before it is offered for sale. Where possible, product pages state the item’s material, measurements, size and condition, as well as any documents or reports included and other relevant details.

Pre-owned and vintage jewellery may show signs of age and use. Such characteristics are described on the product page and do not, in themselves, constitute a defect.

A product’s colour or appearance may vary slightly depending on the screen, device and lighting conditions. Product photographs, descriptions and any accompanying reports supplement these terms and relate to the specific item.

Prices

All prices are stated in euros and include applicable VAT.

Shipping charges and available delivery methods are shown at checkout before the order is confirmed. The countries to which an order can be delivered are also shown at checkout.

In the event of an obvious and significant pricing error, VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy reserves the right not to supply the product. The customer will be informed as soon as possible, and any payment already made will be refunded.

Placing an Order and Formation of the Contract

The customer places an order by adding products to the cart, entering the requested information and confirming the order.

A sales contract is formed when VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy accepts the order and sends an order confirmation to the email address provided by the customer.

VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy reserves the right to decline an order for a justified reason, such as an obvious pricing error, an availability error or a technical issue. If an order cannot be accepted, the customer will be informed and any payment already made will be refunded.

Payment

Payments are processed through Shopify Payments. The payment methods available at checkout are displayed when the customer places an order and may include payment cards, Klarna and other payment methods enabled at the time.

The terms of the selected payment provider may also apply. An order is processed once the payment has been approved or a payment commitment meeting the requirements of the selected payment method has been established.

Delivery and Shipping

Orders are sent by tracked delivery unless another delivery method, such as collection in Kouvola, has been agreed with the customer.

Delivery destinations, shipping charges and estimated delivery times are displayed in the online store or at checkout before the order is confirmed. Unless otherwise stated, the estimated delivery time does not include any order processing time.

Once the shipment has been handed over to the carrier, the customer will receive the available tracking details. The customer will be informed of any carrier delay if we become aware of it.

Every order dispatched by VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy is packed carefully and securely. The delivery includes a jewellery box, any applicable gift packaging, and the diamond or jewellery report and other product-specific documents stated on the product page.

VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy may document the condition of the product and its packaging before dispatch. This helps verify that the order has been prepared correctly and assists in handling any complaints or shipping damage.

Security Seal

Most products are delivered with a VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy security seal. The seal helps show that the product has been delivered in its original condition.

The security seal does not limit the consumer’s statutory rights or prevent the product from being examined to the extent permitted by applicable law.

One-of-a-Kind Pieces and Availability

A significant part of our collection consists of one-of-a-kind pieces.

If, exceptionally, a product cannot be supplied due to an inventory error or another availability issue, VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy will contact the customer. If an alternative arrangement cannot be agreed, any payment already made will be refunded without undue delay.

VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy reserves the right to withdraw products from sale and limit the availability of individual items.

Returns, Withdrawal and Complaints

The consumer’s right of withdrawal, the condition of returned products, return shipping costs, refunds and complaints are addressed in our separate Return and Refund Policy.

Consumers have the right to withdraw from a distance sales contract in accordance with applicable consumer protection law. Exceptions may apply to products made to individual specifications or altered at the customer’s request, to the extent permitted by law.

If a product has been damaged in transit or a defect is discovered, the customer should contact us as soon as possible and, where possible, provide photographs of the product and its packaging.

Warranties and Liability for Defects

VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy is responsible for defects in its products in accordance with the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.

Every piece of jewellery is inspected individually before dispatch to ensure that it matches its product description. Any manufacturing or material defects are assessed individually.

Any warranty provided does not limit the seller’s statutory liability for defects under the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.

Any warranty provided does not cover normal wear and tear, scratches, damage caused by impacts, the effects of chemicals, improper use, or repairs or alterations carried out by third parties. This does not limit the consumer’s statutory rights if the product is defective.

Resizing and Individual Alterations

Many rings can be resized by a goldsmith, subject to the characteristics of the individual ring.

Individual alterations made at the customer’s request may affect the right of withdrawal in accordance with applicable consumer protection law. Any alterations and their costs will be agreed with the customer in advance.

Jewellery Reports

If a diamond or jewellery report is included with a product, this is stated on the product page. The issuing organisation and type of report may vary between products.

The report is supplied in the form and to the extent stated on the product page.

Jewellery Care

Store each piece of jewellery in its own jewellery box or a soft pouch. Diamond jewellery in particular should be stored separately from other pieces to help prevent scratches.

We recommend removing jewellery before strenuous exercise, renovation work, gardening, sauna bathing and swimming. Strong impacts can damage precious metal or loosen stone settings.

Put your jewellery on last when getting dressed. Avoid exposing it to perfume, lotions, hairspray, cleaning products and chlorinated water.

Most jewellery can be cleaned with a soft microfibre cloth or lukewarm water and mild soap. Dry the jewellery thoroughly after cleaning. Strong cleaning products are not recommended.

The stone settings of rings worn daily should be checked regularly by a qualified goldsmith.

Force Majeure

VonKajander Fine Jewellery Oy is not responsible for delays or damage caused by events beyond its reasonable control, such as government measures, industrial action, transport disruptions or comparable events.
